Sugarcane
For Trinis, Sugarcane will take you back to limin’ at the bars. Clearly built with a living love for sweet, sweet TnT, the stylish Park Slope eatery is one of NYC’s best Caribbean restaurants. Savory chana, rich curry, hearty macaroni pie, and fresh roti are all standouts. The lively oasis also serves modern spins on West Indian fare including sorrel mojitos and jerk chicken wings, as well as a few American favorites like chicken strips and fried shrimp. Cocktails are culturally inspired, and the sounds of soca and reggae form the backdrop to your meal (although there’s also a healthy dose of hip-hop and r&b). And where there’s a bacchanal, there’s a line, so prepare to wait if you’re there for weekend brunch or happy hour.
