We can’t get enough of this growing sandwich franchise where the roots and flavor of South African culture aren’t forgotten. Still surrounded by Insta fanfare after two decades on the block, Zunzi’s continues to deliver. An upgrade from a regular sub spot, the eatery brings color and bold flavor to the sandwich game. Our favorite is the Conquistador, a sub with melt-in-your-mouth zunzi chicken, parmesan cheese, tomato, and lettuce accompanied by an array of flavorful sauces. And the wall art and messaging, by their nature, make the experience even more special—you’re greeted by Nelson Mandela murals, reminding us of our universality and to spread the love, as well as by their light-hearted “sh*t yeah!” catch phrase — for the fun-seeking you who just wants to get away from it all.  Voted by People magazine, the people, and Urbanoire as the best sandwich spot in town.
