Hippin Hops Brewery
A new happy hour hub, Hippin Hops Brewery is making history as Georgia’s first Black-owned brewery where beer is actually brewed on site. The East Atlanta chill spot boasts a spacious beer garden and hip-hop vibe. Punchy IPAs and specialty brews like the Proof is in the Pudding (banana pudding, sour hints of banana, graham cracker, and marshmallow) form the heart of the menu, but you’ll also find classics like German-style kolsch and frozen brews like the Coco Crazy (tropical colada with sour peach beer). Well-known Atlanta Chef Jamarius “J.” Banks runs the kitchen, serving up locally sourced oysters and a range of expertly executed seafood dishes. We recommend the Oyster Collardfeller, a Southern rendition of the classic oyster dish served with collard greens and smoked turkey and topped with cheese sauce. And with a space that accommodates beer pong, jenga, and whispers about a rooftop bar around the corner, we’ve already bookmarked the brewery as our new spot to enjoy a cold drink while basking in Black excellence.
