Hendrix House

Upbeat, buzzy, and black-owned, Hendrix House is theeee place to catch a dope vibe. The restaurant and lounge makes our top five for the music and vibe alone. The menu is Caribbean American, specializing in quick, meaty bites like chicken wings and lamb chops, as well as near perfect crab cakes and lobster rolls. But you’ll really be there for the drinks: we visited in summer, so of course went for the first class frozen margaritas and frosé. The three level restaurant is shockingly spacious for NYC, but you’ll still want a reservation, especially if you’re visiting on a Friday night. Bringing some club energy, but without the packed crowds, Hendrix is great for a pregame or a chill night out.
The crab cakes…theeee crab cakes, ‘chef’s kiss.’
