FIELDTRIP Harlem
FIELDTRIP Harlem is an ode to an under-appreciated global staple: rice. Chef JJ Johnson travelled the world collecting recipes and spices, and then returned to NYC to create the restaurant we know (and love) today. Dishes are inspired by JJ’s journeys through Africa, Asia, and America. The spot is casual and straightforward—a Chipotle-style quick order set up. However, rather than the now-familiar “build your own” style, at FIELDTRIP the spotlight is on the signature bowls, curated “to give you the most flavorful experience possible.” Try the Fried Chicken bowl, a homage to the South with hand-battered chicken breast, Carolina gold vegetable rice, and BBQ sauce, or savor a melting pot veggie bowl of jollof basmati rice, wok veggies, sweet plantains, and roasted broccoli. An ideal spot for hearty eaters, FIELDTRIP caters to the family, a quick bite, or a date-yourself, while appreciating the global legacy of rice. As soon as you sniff the appetizing aroma of scrumptious rice steeped in quality spices, you’ll see why we find this restaurant hard to resist.
