Seis Vecinos

Seis Vecinos made me do something I thought I’d never do: eat a whole fish, face and all. And it was absolutely delicious. On previous trips to this Central American and Mexican restaurant, I’ve tasted Baleadas (a traditional Honduran handmade flour tortilla stuffed with mashed refried beans, crema, and crumbled cheese with your choice of meat), Pupusas (a thick, handmade corn tortilla stuffed with a savory filling), Sopa de Marisco (soup with shrimp and mussels), tamales, and hearty fish tacos—all delicious. My advice: try something new, but always top off your meal with chips and guac and a craft cocktail. This is one of many family-owned and run restaurants that you can find in countless neighborhoods all over the Bronx that underscore the true culinary diversity in the borough.
